Satatya is a graduate of the Chanakya National Law University, Patna. He holds an experience of working as a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Team of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, in its Delhi-NCR office. Satatya holds advisory, litigation and arbitration experience. He specializes in media and entertainment cases, civil commercial disputes / advisory, insolvency law, general corporate, white-collar crime (including criminal appellate side), debt recovery matters and arbitration.
He has advised and represented leading industrial groups including JSW, Jindal Steel Power Limited (JSPL), Adani Ports and Power Ltd., Renault India, Hyundai, Sephora India, Samrat Cinematics (Media and Production House) Sunflag Iron and Steel Ltd., Shah Alloys Limited, IDBI Bank and other leading public sector banks, HDFC, NHAI, and many other private as well as public sector undertaking. He has been involved in successful bidding processes and acquisitions of various companies under liquidation such as Kwality Ltd. for JSPL, etc. His work also spans advising a Singapore-based international conglomerate on strategic insolvency and restructuring matters in India and also defending the directors of the Singapore Based entity in a series of criminal litigations in India. He has also been involved in a high-profile family dispute with regard to the estate of Mr. Abhey Kumar Oswal (Oswal Greentech and Oswal Agro) wherein, he was advising Mrs. Aruna Oswal.
Satatya regularly appears and argues before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, Bombay High Court, Allahabad High Court, DRT, DRAT, Consumer Courts, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, various benches of the National Company Law Tribunal, various district courts, high courts and arbitral tribunals. Known for his sharp legal insight, meticulous preparation, and courtroom strategy, Satatya has built a reputation for delivering results in some of the most challenging legal disputes in India’s commercial and regulatory landscape.
Advising and representing Samrat Cinematics before Hon’ble Bombay High Court against Central Board of Film Certification with regard to certification of the film “Ajey: The Untold Story of a Yogi”. The Hon’ble Bombay High Court was pleased to watch the movie itself and thereafter, paved the way for its release in theatres without any modifications/cuts.
Advising and representing seafarers / merchant navy officers before Hon’ble Bombay High Court wherein a circular of Directorate General of Shipping was challenged by virtue of which thousands of seafarers holding foreign certifications were rendered jobless. We also secured a favorable stay order from the Hon’ble Bombay High Court lifting the blanket ban on the seafarers.
Advising and representing IDBI Bank and other leading Public Sector Banks in recovery actions aggregating to claims of over INR 2000 crore, including proceedings under the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act (RDB Act) and the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act (SARFAESI Act) before the DRT and DRAT.for acquiring Kwality Ltd. under liquidation and
getting various reliefs and concessions for it.
